As of now, I am probably in the worst shape of my life. For most of the school year at Drexel, I haven't exercised. During the summer, my exercise was mostly in the form of playing pick-up basketball games with my friends or occasionally running with the cross country team. It wasn't "real" exercise, because my intentions were usually to have fun with my friends instead of work out, but at least I was active. I think my last "real" exercise was in May, which is when District Championships for track were held. Unfortunately at Drexel, I was only physically active for the first few days of the fall term; I tore my ankle playing basketball the second day of classes. Here's a picture a few weeks after the injury; it's not the prettiest sight so I included the link instead of posting it.
Picture of the Injury
It was difficult to get around campus for two months on crutches, but the worst part was not being able to play basketball or go for a run. It was definitely frustrating; all my life I have been active, whether it was playing basketball or running for my high school or just playing sports with my friends. I wanted to exercise during the first term, but I couldn't walk let alone run with a torn ankle. It wasn't until about week 8 of last term I was able to stop using crutches, and I was in physical therapy until last week.
Unfortunately, the end of physical therapy does not mean I'm healed; my ankle is still weak and on some days I'll still limp. In a positive light, I am starting to exercise again, but it has been difficult. I'll post more about this later.
Hmm. You're right, I need to go exercise too. I haven't exercised in... God knows how long. In fact, I've never even seen the inside of the athletics building. One of these days, I'll start exercising again. One of these days...
